Plot Overview
The story centers around a fallen middle-class family struggling to arrange their father's funeral. To their dismay, they discover that the deceased patriarch's body presents a bizarre and uncomfortable anatomical issue—an erect penis. The family attempts to discreetly manage this embarrassing predicament while long-hidden secrets about the father's love life begin to surface. The Sinhala title, "Nelum Kuluna" (Lotus Tower), is a satirical and overt reference to both Sri Lanka's tallest structure and the anatomical issue the family is trying to hide, serving as a sharp critique of societal hypocrisy and taboos.

Awards: The film won the Special Jury Award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in 2023 and has been screened at various global events, including the Glasgow Film Festival.
Global Remakes: It is notably the first Sri Lankan film to be adapted into several languages, including a Tamil remake directed by Ilango Ram titled Perusu (2025), alongside planned remakes in Spanish, Italian, English, Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam.
